I create art that is transformative in nature by creating experiences and environments displayed with light, shadow, photography, sound, and filmic themes.
Creating miniature sculptures feeds into my photography. This then takes on a filmic nature through stop motion which becomes part of an installation through projection. Light and shadows add to the experience. Sound, music and audio cues further immerse the viewer into the experience. Art should be felt and experienced, not just seen.
My art speaks to those feeling outcast and broken. Light illuminates – they are seen, not hidden in darkness. Found objects show that discarded things still hold worth. Broken objects reveal that even in our brokenness, we still have value. Macro photography exposes the need to look closer to see the true beauty just below the surface.
